Sue Hasney

Mrs. Sue first became part of our Administrative Team working part time. She has 30 years experience working for a CPA, as an office manager and administrative assistant. Mrs. Sue's love for children led her to also become a Kinder Haus substitute teacher. She is now cross-trained in all three of our classes. Her natural ability to "go with the flow" is much appreciated when duty calls in the classroom! Ms. Carolyn came to us in July 2008. She plays a very important role in cooking nutritious meals for the kids. She has formerly worked in childcare settings and thoroughly enjoys their company. Her easy going demeanor and warm smile make her a perfect fit in our Kinder Haus family.

Having been home-schooled for most of her life, Ms. Abi attended Montessori school for a couple years during her early childhood. She is working towards a degree in Early Childhood Development and is an active participant in the nursery at her church. Ms. Abi loves helping children learn and grow to develop their own thoughts.

Elizabeth Schoen Larsen

Mrs. Elizabeth is not new to Kinder Haus…..she was here as a 3 year old! After leaving Kinder Haus, she attended St. Martin’s. She also attended LSU and Delgado. Elizabeth received her Montessori Certification from Houston Montessori Center. Elizabeth enjoys running, LSU & Saints football, working with children at Camp Pelican and Camp Challenge, studying philosophy, psychology, and New Orleans culture. Mrs. Elizabeth says, “Montessori feeds into my need for scientific explanations, while teaching lets me develop relationships to see and guide growth.” We are very happy that Elizabeth, her husband Landon, and their 3 year old bulldog—Turley, have returned to New Orleans and that she is a continuing member of our Kinder Haus family.

Joanna Park Hazel

Ms. Joanna comes to Kinder Haus from South Carolina where she attended USC with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She joined our team in fall 2011 and has been subbing for us in all classes. We love having her calm, gentle, and competent support. Ms. Joanna enjoys music and art, along with the husband, Sedric. In addition, she enjoys traveling and going to the movies. We are glad to have her aboard!

Kenneth Putfark
Maintenance and Groundskeeper

Born and raised in New Orleans, Mr. Kenneth Putfark is one of our most popular staff members. Multi-talented,"Mr.Kenny” makes necessary repairs and improvements to our Metairie campus. He focuses on safety and is dedicated to maintaining a beautiful environment for our children. The children adore Mr. Kenny and many of his projects become spontaneous and valuable lessons. A Montessorian at heart, he patiently introduces names of tools and occasionally invites students to help him complete meaningful tasks. All of the children absorb so much from him. Relaxed and intriguing learning takes place according to the interests of the children. "An aid to life…" as Dr. Montessori said," is the role of the adult in the Children's House." Mr. Kenny, without even knowing, follows her vision with his many contributions to our programs. We are delighted to have him as an important member of our Kinder Haus family.
